March | Cheese, Glorious Cheese

It’s been a week, and only now do I feel that I can comfortably mention the c-word.

Bakers – you did Cheese Month in style. I think Holly and I were a little worried that we’d hyped the event up to be something of mythical proportions, a Fromage Nirvana if you will.

Just a few steps up the stairs in Amicus Apple however, and it was evident that Cheese Month was back with a bang – the aroma was strong to say the least!

Twenty-two of you came along with a veritable feast of dairy-laden goods, with a really impressive mix of savoury and sweet. Most months we tend to be a little heavy on the sweet side, and cheese month does present the problem of ‘cheese sweats’, but the variety was really fantastic.

SWEET BABY CHEESUS.

We’re delighted to announce that Mechelle of Melt Aberdeen will be joining us at next week’s Cheese Month event!

Melt opened at the start of this month, and is a grilled cheese sandwich lovers dream, right in the centre of Aberdeen.

Mechelle is going to explain a little more about Melt, and which varieties of cheese have got what it takes to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

We’re drooling already.

Want to come? Make sure you head over to our Facebook page, and click ‘Going’ on our events page so we keep a space for you.

February | Love to Bake

Cover_FebWEDNESDAY, February 24th: the date we officially became Aberdeen Bake Club.

Despite the fact that I’ve been organising these events for 3 and a half years, and we always get a fair amount of ‘Interested’ people on our Facebook page, there’s always a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach as I walk up the stairs at the back of Amicus Apple. What if no-one’s turned up, and Holly and I are left sitting alone, sadly clutching our Tupperware?
