With the generous support of BP, Duthie Park once again plays host to the BP Big Screens this year, on Thursday, July 14.
We’ve attended the BP Big Screens twice before and had a fantastic time. We’ve been lucky with the weather on both occasions, and our spread always garnered inquisitive looks from those sitting nearby!
As per usual, we ask that you bake something and bring it along to share. The theme is pretty open, but anything you would for a picnic would be great.
The Royal Opera’s Il trovatore will be shown at 7.15pm with pre-performance screening from 6.45pm. Running time is approximately 3 hours (including intervals), but please feel free to leave when you please.
Entry to the big screen in Duthie Park is via Polmuir Road or Riverside Drive. Guests are welcome to bring picnics (thankfully!) and your own portable seating; however no glassware, cans, barbecues or naked flames are allowed (there go the Smores…)
Colene and Holly will aim to get there early to nab a spot – hopefully in a similar position to previous years. We’ll be on a red polka dot blanket and will take an Aberdeen Bake Club sign with us, but feel free to Tweet us or send us a message on Facebook if you’re lost.
Now as much as we’re hoping for glorious sunshine, we’re well aware that the forecast isn’t looking too great. If the weather is awful, we will be in Soul as usual from 7pm – don’t worry, we’ll ensure we communicate our location during the day so keep an eye on our social media channels.
